HOW TO CLEAN YOUR HEARING AIDS & REPLACE WAX GUARDS │ with alana

Watch Alana go through general hearing aid maintenance that should be performed regularly to ensure optimal performance, sound quality and longevity.

Receiver-in-the-ear Hearing Aids

At night, gently wipe down your domes to remove any wax or debris.

Every two weeks or so, remove the dome and check the wax guard. If it is blocked with wax or debris, replace it with a new one from your pack of wax guards that fit your particular hearing aids.

In-the-canal Hearing Aids

The concept is the same, wipe down the hearing aids every night to remove any oil or debris and replace the wax guard with a new one if it is blocked.

A brush should have been included in the pack you received with your hearing aids, which you can use to gently brush over the microphone covers to clear them. The ventilation hole should also be kept clear, to do this you can use the thin wire end of the brush to poke through the hole and make sure it is clear.

If you need wipes, we have some available on our online store here, and wax guards are also available here. Before you order any wax guards, please take the time to double check you are ordering the correct wax filters for your hearing aids.
